Mr. Aleksandër Biberaj graduated in 1990 as an Electronics Engineer from the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Electronics, University of Tirana. He obtained an MBA in 2000 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA), in collaboration with the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics. He earned his Doctor of Science degree in Economics (Ph.D.) in 2006 with a thesis titled “Progressive Liberalization of the Telecommunications Market in Albania” from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics, Department of Management. In 2012, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor by the Polytechnic University of Tirana, and in 2023, he received the title of Professor Doctor from the same institution. Since 2020, he has been leading the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications at the Faculty of Technology and Information, Polytechnic University of Tirana.
Research Areas:
Professor Biberaj’s research is focused on the telecommunications market and the audiovisual media sector, with an emphasis on regulatory aspects, policymaking, the introduction of new operators, network operation, maintenance, management, and security. A significant portion of his research includes fiber optic networks, satellite communications—encompassing systems, technologies, and cellular protocols. Additionally, his research involves information systems, their management and security, as well as project and corporate management.
